BUV SUBURBAN EVANS CARS A kit of this wagon is available from Wuiske Models, click here to view this item. These coaches, known as Evans cars after Commisioner Evans were built between 1910 and 1953. This class of cars consisted of 18 sets (numbered 1 to 18 and totaling 116 cars). Seventeen of these sets were 6 car sets and the eighteenth was a seven car set. Each set constisted of one 1st class van, one 1st class coach, three 2nd class coaches and one 2nd class van. The seven car set had an additional 2nd class car, and the spare cars consisted of one 1st class and six 2nd class cars. The first batch of Evans cars were built between 1910 and 1925. The first 31 coaches were built to a standard design and their running numbers consisted of: 779, 780, 782, 784, 786, 788, 790, 889, 890, 903, 904, 922, 931, 976, 978, 1031, 1069, 1104, 1137, 1177, 1269, 1291, 1299, 1302, 1316, 1345, 1364, 1370, 1412, 1418 and 1424. Another 25 BUV coaches were built to a slightly modified design, numbered 744, 795, 796, 800, 808, 812, 891, 892, 913, 913, 914, 936, 946, 983, 987, 1035, 1075, 1110, 1117, 1184, 1260, 1270, 1293, 1300, 1303 and 1315. All of the wagons in this series were still in service in Decmber 1982. All Evans cars (exept those built in the last batch 1946 to 1953) were fitted with crown lights.
